Packaging is necessary for most products and we are very proud of the creative and innovative way we handle this. Besides using 100% recycled paper and vegetable based ink, we are continuously redesigning to minimize packaging and its subsequent waste.
Besides just purchasing recycled paper products, we go much farther. For example, we utilize immediate post-consumer paper waste from our local Post Office. We have no idea how much energy this saves, but we have cut several steps. These include transporting the paper waste, manufacturing the waste into something else, packaging the new recycled paper waste for resale and, always, the additional transportation.
This creates more work for us, but it has got to be a good thing!
And, we feel great about our packaging oddities even if it means extra labor.
